Discussion:
Clouds have moved back into the area and the rain will follow. Clouds will help to keep our starting temperatures in the upper 60s. Thanks to the cloud cover and rain, highs will only be in the 70s.
Showers will begin as early as mid-morning and will be scattered to isolated. The showers will have a few embedded thunderstorms as we move into the afternoon hours.
The severe weather threat will be to our south today with a Marginal Risk (level 1) over our southern most counties.
The storm threat will move north Saturday as the Marginal Risk over parts of the Atlanta metro area. More scattered showers and thunderstorms expected. Damaging wind is still the main threat.
Expect temperatures on Saturday to bring lows in the 60s and highs in the upper 70s with a mostly cloudy sky.
Sunday will bring drier conditions back in with a partly cloudy sky and just a slight chance for a few isolated showers, mainly in the morning with lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s.
Monday through Wednesday will be completely dry with lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s under a partly cloudy to mostly sunny sky each day.
Thursday will then bring a mostly cloudy sky with lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s and a slight chance for rain returning to the forecast.
Expect anywhere from one to three inches of rain to occur this next week across north Georgia with a majority of that happening Friday and Saturday.
