Police: Sex Offender Molested Girl

A registered sex offender has been arrested in Cherokee County on charges he molested an 8-year-old girl.

Donny Long, 30, of Ball Ground, was arrested Thursday afternoon, sheriff's officials said.

Long was convicted in Pickens County in 1998 for Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes and is registered in Cherokee County as a sex offender.

He was on probation when, authorities said, he molested the child. Long is now being held in the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
