'Rides on Tap:' Take a Lyft and give back

Lyft and New Realm Brewing team up to support Atlanta nonprofit Giving Kitchen

ATLANTA — Grabbing a beer at New Realm Brewing Company? Here's a chance to grab a ride and give back.

From now through the end of 2019, Lyft is partnering with the brewery on Atlanta BeltLine's Eastside Trail for a 'ride smart' campaign. Riders who take a Lyft to New Realm will contribute $4 in donations to Giving Kitchen.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Take a Lyft ride to New Realm Brewing Co. (550 Somerset Terrace NE).
  2. Show the Lyft ride receipt to your taproom bartender, server, or staff.
  3. Your bartender will give you a one-time use promo code to enter into the app before you take your Lyft ride home, and Lyft and New Realm will make a $4 donation to Giving Kitchen on your behalf.

Not familiar with Giving Kitchen? The organization provides crisis grants for restaurant workers who need emergency assistance. The James Beard Foundation recently honored the organization with its Humanitarian Award.

“Giving Kitchen has a tremendous impact on many Atlantans’ lives,” said Sam Bond, Lyft’s Southeast regional director. “Lyft is dedicated to being a public company invested in the public good, and we’re proud to work with New Realm to help support its mission.”

“Through this partnership with Lyft and Giving Kitchen, not only will our guests get home safely, but we will be able to give back to food service employees in our community,” said Carey Falcone, New Realm CEO and co-founder.
