BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. -- A Bartow County Sheriff's deputy is no longer with the office after he was accused of sexual assault and possession of drugs.
Authorities arrested 31-year-old Josh Nelson for allegedly taking inappropriate photos of a woman during a transport earlier this month. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Bartow County Sheriff's Office both investigated the accusations, which resulted in three arrest warrants.
Officials charged Nelson with violating his oath of office, possession of methamphetamine, and sexual assault by a person with supervisory or disciplinary authority. All charges are felonies.
Bartow County Sheriff's Office says Nelson had been employed with them for more than six years.
