SWAT team called in after man points gun at neighbor, throws brick at Chihuahua

The suspect now faces several charges including cruelty to animals

HALL COUNTY -- Police have arrested a man who went into hiding after pulling a gun on someone and throwing a brick at a dog.

According to the Hall County Sheriff's Office, they responded to the 700 block of West Avenue along with the Gwinnett Police Department on reports of an assault.

They arrived to learn that Yasund Hancock allegedly threatened a neighbor and pulled a gun on them. Police said he also tried to harm the victim's dog, a Chihuahua by throwing a large brick at it.

After making the threats, authorities said Hancock made the threats and then retreated so authorities called in the SWAT to help talk him out while other officers set up a perimeter.

Negotiators were ultimately able to talk Hanckock into turning himself in. He was taken to Hall County Jail where he faces several charges including two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of terroristic threats, cruelty to animals, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
