Dragon Con 2017 is descending on downtown Atlanta.
Organizers are predicting more than 80,000 sci-fi, pop culture, gaming and fantasy fanatics in the city, donning their favorite costumes and ready to geek out
The annual convention continues to expand over three decades, with an extra 5,000 attendees anticipated over last year's 77,000.

Dragon Con also promises double the panelists and performers. More than 400 featured guests from Hollywood, comedy and sci fi fandom are set to entertain, including Stan Lee, William Shatner and John Cusack.

The pop culture convention's event spans several downtown venues including AmericasMart and five host hotels. 140,000 square feet in AmericasMart and Westin Peachtree Plaza is dedicated to Dragon Con's gaming programming.
Organizers also work with 24 overflow hotels across Atlanta to accommodate attendees.
The tens of thousands of attendees are also projected to bring in tens of millions of dollars in revenue.
According to Heather Kirksey with the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, the estimated direct economic impact for Dragon Con 2017 is expected to total $70,870,000.
