42 displaced after fire at Clayton Co. apartments

10 units were damaged at the Flint River Apartment Homes

JONESBORO, Ga. — The Red Cross said on Tuesday they are assisting 42 adults and children displaced from 10 units at a Jonesboro apartment complex.

The fire broke out at the Flint River Apartment homes.

The Red Cross said they provided assistance for essentials such as lodging, food, the replacement of health-related items and emotional support. 

"Caseworkers will continue to work with them in the days ahead to provide additional recovery resources and help them get back on their feet," they said.
