A Florida woman who sought refuge from Irma in the metro Atlanta area has passed away days after her infant child.

Kaitlyn Hunt, her 3-month-old daughter, and a family friend were crossing a street near Woodstock City Park where a concert was being held Saturday night when they were struck by a Jeep.

The child, Riley, was pronounced dead Saturday night. Hunt, 28, passed away on Tuesday night, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

The family friend remained hospitalized, authorities said.

According to a GoFundMe page created to raise money for the family, Hunt was in Georgia after their home in Port Lucia, Fla. was threatened by Irma. Click here for information on how to donate.

Authorities said the incident remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed against the 17-year-old driver of the Jeep.
