Family's home destroyed by fire in northwest Lawrenceville

Cruse Road was shut down temporarily due to a structure fire Tuesday night.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Late Tuesday night, Gwinnett County Fire shut down a roadway in west Lawrenceville due to a house fire.

At 9:30 PM, authorities say a neighbor called 911 to report smoke and flames coming from a cars in the driveway of a home on Cruse Road. Firefighters arrived and reported finding a two-story, single-family home completely engulfed in flames. Officials reported that the second floor of the home collapsed after arrival. 

The house was considered a total loss and no one was home at the time of the fire. American Red Cross is providing temporary relief for the family of three adults.
