LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Known as the neighborhood restaurant of downtown Lawrenceville, the Universal Joint has slightly changed its business model in response to the coronavirus.
The restaurant and bar posting to their social media pages over the weekend that they would be changing their business concept "to serve the people we love."
Restaurant owners going on to write that the business will now serve as a no-contact pickup spot for market goods and food, and pre-made menu items. The restaurant will now have multiple menus available for customers including the regular UJ menu, pantry menu, a market family meal menu, deli sandwich menu, and a beer and wine menu.
The pantry menu will include just about anything the restaurant has in stock such as meats, cheeses, and condiments. The market family meal menu will feature various fully cooked meals that will feed 2 to 4 people. Some of the past family meals have been beef stroganoff, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and beef or chicken enchiladas.
UJ releases multiple menus
The post concluding with, "I’m trying my best to stay away from the grocery store crowds and surfaces! We are going to make it through this together!"
To order from any of the menus, you are asked to call the restaurant at 770-229-1898. You will then pay over the phone, and your delivery will be placed in your vehicle with no contact between you and the staff member.
Universal Joint is located behind the Gwinnett County Courthouse on the corner of Pike Street.
