DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A garbage truck driver unwittingly brought a body to a DeKalb County landfill Friday morning, after picking it up from one of the dumpsters on his route.
DeKalb County Police said a dead male was found at the landfill at 4203 Clevemont Rd. in Ellenwood.
Workers discovered the body in an area where garbage trucks typically dump their loads.
Police said it was unknowingly transported there by a sanitation driver, who picked it up making the morning rounds. There was no indication about where it might have originated from.
Police cars and vans could be seen at the landfill, and investigators were seen in white hazmat suits. An investigation is ongoing.
The person has not been identified and there is not yet any information on a possible cause of death.
