Bottoms to be sworn as new mayor on Jan. 2 | Full inauguration day schedule

Bottoms will officially become Atlanta's 60th mayor in history.

Keisha Lance Bottoms will be inaugurated on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, as Atlanta's 60th mayor in history.

Here is a schedule of inauguration day events:

  • 8 am, Impact Church, 2323 Sylvan Road. Bottoms will speak at the inaugural Interfaith Worship Service.
  • 1 pm, Martin Luther King Jr. international chapel at Morehouse College, 830 Westview Drive. Bottoms will be formally inaugurated as mayor. The Atlanta City Council president, councilmembers and municipal court judges will also take their oaths of office.
  • 4 pm, City Hall cabinet room. Bottoms will hold a special media availability for digital and social media outlets.
  • 5:30 pm, City Hall atrium. Bottoms will hold a citizen's reception. Free and open to the public.

Bottoms was elected mayor in December after finishing just a few hundred votes ahead of Mary Norwood in a runoff.
