It’s been a long year that she hopes will pay on Tuesday for Keisha Lance Bottoms.
Lance Bottoms is one of the candidates in the hotly-contest Atlanta mayoral race.
Current Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed grew up with Lance Bottoms and has thrown his support her way.
Lance Bottoms believes she’s well-qualified for the position. She is a member of City Council, an attorney and former judge, and the married mother of four adopted children has been a lifelong resident of Atlanta.

She’s focusing on transportation, public safety and the city's children. She’s hoping deep roots in the city will carry her on election night.
"I know what it's like to grow up in this city with challenging circumstances but I also know what's possible in this city when there are good leaders making decisions,” she said.
She was all smiles as she cast her vote at Fickett Elementary Tuesday morning.
"I woke up this morning thinking I'm standing on the prayers of generations so this race is so much bigger than me as a candidate, it's about all of us,” she said.
Lance Bottoms says she's competing for gold, not silver, but if there's a runoff in Decembers, she's ready for another month of campaigning.
