Meet the new Atlanta Hawks forward Jabari Parker

Three things you need to know about the newest addition to the Schlenk dynasty

ATLANTA — Jabari Parker officially became an Atlanta Hawk Thursday.  The 11Alive Sports Team gives perspective on how this addition adds to the Hawks

The first thing you need to know about Jabari Parker: injuries have been the story of his career, so far.

He suffered two ACL tears and knows that monitoring that is very important. Hawks head trainer Chelsea Lane is one of the main reasons Jabari chose to sign with Atlanta.

“I have very great reviews of Chelsea and it’s been very good having dialogue with her.”

The second thing you need to know about Jabari Parker: he’s ready to come off the bench. The Hawks already have John Collins, and just added Evan Turner when they traded Kent Bazemore to Portland. Parker isn’t sure what his role is going to be just yet, but he’s ready to contribute any way that he can.

“You know I’ve been on the bench, for you know, two seasons of my career and you know the productivity that I have is pretty good.”

The third thing you need to know about Jabari Parker: He doesn’t think he has anything to prove

“I don’t think I have anything to prove. I think that it’s just a matter of me doing what I know I can do and that’s play this game that I love.”
