A boil water advisory for the cities of East Point and College Park has been lifted, according to East Point water officials.

In a statement, East Point Water said all test results on the water had come back negative, and that boiling is no longer necessary.

The advisory was issued on January 2 after a water main broke in the 1900 block of Norman Berry Drive, causing water pressure to drop.

In an earlier release, East Point Water Department said, "When this occurs a potential health hazard may exist in these areas of zero pressure from backflow and/or back-siphonage of water of unknown quality into the water distribution system."

The East Point statement today also indicated the 1900 block of Headland Drive is now fully open to traffic.
