Macon Arts Alliance hosting 2nd annual Arts and Culture Festival

More than 60 artists, vendors, and community organizations will be there.

The Second Annual Connections Macon Arts and Culture Festival will take place Saturday.

The event will be hosted at the Mill Hill Community Arts Center in east Macon.

Attendees will be able to enjoy various art shows, food, and interactive activities.

Performers will take the stage in the newly renovated auditorium.

The Macon Arts Alliance opened the center in March in hopes of revitalizing the Fort Hawkins neighborhood.

“This neighborhood has sort of been left behind and is facing a lot of challenges,” said J.R. Olive, Project Director for the Mill Hill East Macon Arts Village Project. “So we wanted to start a revitalization project here with an arts center.”

The event is free and open to the public. It will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a free trolley running through the area to provide transportation to the event.

The Mill Hill Community Arts Center is located at 213 Clinton Street in Macon.
