Two men have been sentenced to prison on child pornography charges.
Brandon Otoupal and Franklin Lee Clark Gilmore were both sentenced to federal prison in two separate cases.
Prosecutors said Otoupal, 27, of Carrollton, Ga., both produced child pornography and posted a video on a website, while Gilmore, 26, of Cartersville, Ga., collected a library of child pornography files and shared them on the Internet to access more child pornography.
The investigation began in 2015, when U.S. Homeland Security investigators received information that a person had posted on a foreign website a video of a young child being sexually abused by an adult.
Agents tracked the website to Otoupal’s home in Carrollton, where they found more child pornography images and evidence that he actually produced the material.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Atlanta also said Otoupal used a cell phone app to coerce a teenage girl to produce child pornography of herself and send it to him.
Prosecutors said Gilmore has been downloading child pornography from the Internet beginning around June 2014, and eventually transferred the material to the cloud.
Both men pled guilty to the charges, and both will be required to register as sex offenders when they are released from prison.
