Western North Carolina first responder couple gets married after dream wedding falls through due to Helene

Though their dream was to get married in Glacier National Park, amid Hurricane Helene's landfall and impact, this couple arranged to get married right here in NC.

HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. — Congratulations to this couple!

Henderson County Rescue Squad Public Information Officer Rhonda Chislaghi and retired Skyland Fire Department Division Chief Eric Barnwell married at a Buncombe County supply distribution center.

Their original plans to hold their dream wedding in Glacier National Park fell through due to Hurricane Helene, this first responder couple stuck to their original date and held a ceremony on Oct. 2.
