Discussion:
Cloud cover is building in as a ridge of high pressure slides to our northeast. This high was previously keeping us clear, but the shift will be setting up a wedge pattern across the southeast for the weekend. Moisture and colder air is heading our way.
Thanks to that cloud cover in increase in moisture content in the air, it won't be quite as cold by Saturday morning, and overnight lows stay above freezing.
Clouds stick around for the weekend, and a few showers are possible by Saturday. Rain will be primarily light and spotty at best, meaning many stay dry. Depending on the strength of the wedge, a mist or drizzle that is often too light to show up on radar could develop.
Rain chances increase slightly Sunday as a cold front approaches. Scattered showers are expected, but they will focus on the northwestern corner of the state. A few pockets of moderate to heavy rain are possible.
Accumulation totals for most will be minimal, and some spots stay dry.
Temperatures run below average through the weekend. Mornings become milder and afternoons milder by mid-week. Lows hover near 50 Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, and highs will warm into the mid 60s.
The warm-up doesn't last long, however. Another storm system brings back cooler air and rain by Thursday.
