EAST POINT, Ga. — East Point, GA – The award-winning Tri-Cities High School's Chorus Department presented, "Billboard - The Hot 100: Five Decades of Top Ten Hits" yesterday evening at the Viola Turner Theater. This concert is an annual pop-themed event and it is the first music event of the season.

The Director of the Tri-Cities High School's Choral Activities, Lori Ann Christian had this to share with My East Point News just minutes before showtime, “When I started doing research for the songs, I realized how many of these songs were game-changers in popular music.”

The concert celebrated popular hits spanning a 50 year period (1968 -2018) from Billboard's Hot 100 List. Christian stated that there was a concerted effort to ensure that there were diverse music styles including pop, rhythm and blues and rock.

The program included arrangements performed by both iconic and today's popular artists such as The Jackson Five, Earth, Wind and Fire, Journey, Imagine Dragons and OneRepublic.
