ATLANTA — An accident that reportedly involved multiple vehicles and left a tractor-trailer overturned on I-285 in Clayton County, Sunday, has been cleared from the road - but appears to still be on the shoulder.

For quite some time in the afternoon hours, cameras showed just one lane moving on the interstate's westbound lanes near I-75 and Clark Howell Highway. The truck itself was laying across the far right lane and the emergency lane; though, police had blocked additional lanes to make room for first responders.

And while traffic camera video only showed one tractor-trailer still on the road, the Georgia Department of Transportation reported that two trucks and one car may have been involved when it happened.

At one point, congestion had built up nearly as far back as Jonesboro Road, located to the east of the accident scene.

As of 11:30 p.m., the accident appeared to have been cleared from the roadway itself. However, cameras still show crews working in the area to completely removed the truck and trailer from the scene.

It's unclear, at this point, if that process could result in another lane closure.
