Music Midtown announces 'hiatus' for upcoming year

Here's what we know.

ATLANTA — Music Midtown has announced it will not return this year.

The festival released a statement on X on Wednesday, saying it would be "going on hiatus." The message is also posted on the festival's official website.

"After producing legendary festivals over the past 3 decades that drew music fans from across the globe, we want to share that Music Midtown is going on hiatus this year," the post stated. "We encourage you to continue supporting live music in Atlanta and stay tuned here for future updates."

The festival returned last year after being canceled in 2022 over what was cited as conflicts surrounding Georgia's gun laws.

It's unclear the reason for this year's cancellation, but 11Alive has reached out to festival organizers and will update this story with more information.
