While much of the attention from Marvel Studios these days is focused on the soon-to-be-released Doctor Strange, along with the first teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Phase 2, which dropped last week, folks in Atlanta should keep an eye out on two big Marvel projects which will begin filming locally soon: Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.
Along with those two projects, several other local projects have open casting calls soon, and thanks to our friends at Project Casting, we’ve got the latest info for you right here.
Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, the new ruler of the technologically advanced kingdom of Wakanda, defending his nation from being torn apart from enemies from both inside and outside. Marvel Cinematic Universe fans met Prince T’Challa earlier this year in Captain America Civil War, and also discovered he is the superhero Black Panther, endowed with strength that allows him to go head-to-head with Captain America in battle.
Black Panther will be released in movie theaters on February 16, 2018.
Tammy Smith Casting is looking for people to portray the people of the African Wakanda homeland in the film.
People with heritage from any of the African nations are welcome – ages 18 to 90 – bring your elders, too, please! Please wear a good look for the photos producers will be taking of any of the following: African wardrobe, Afropunk looks, tribal looks, or just come in a neutral color tank top and form-fitting shorts, capris, leggings, et.al. NOTE: Tattoos and piercings are welcome! Hair styles will vary, and shaved heads – both men and women – are needed as well.
Producers say they are especially looking for talents that have the following skills: Drummers (African style); Martial Arts/MMA; Boxing; Wrestling; Military/weapons/knife-handling; Stick-fighting; Fitness-trained/Athletic types.
Two upcoming casting call dates will be held in metro Atlanta: Tammy Smith Casting will be holding an open casting call on Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6 from 11 am to 6 pm at OFS, 6305 Crescent Drive, NW, Norcross, GA 30071 (Use the truck entrance gate and follow the signs for the open call).
Filming for Black Panther will take place in Atlanta and the greater Atlanta area. Filming begins in January and runs through May, 2017. Casting will begin as soon as possible. Those coming to the casting call should select one of the two days, and expect the actual time to take about an hour to apply and have a photograph taken, along with a brief information presentation.

Central Casting is now hiring background actors, stand-ins, photo doubles and featured roles for the upcoming Marvel Studios film The Avengers: Infinity War, the long-awaited sequel to The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Specific details regarding the plot are still pretty secret, but what is known is that The Mad Titan, Thanos, is expected to be main antagonist of the film, and that the story will revolve around the Infinity Gauntlet and the six Infinity Stones – all of which has been hinted at in earlier Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
The Avengers: Infinity War will be in theaters on May 4, 2018.
A large portion of the background roles for The Avengers: Infinity War will be selected by the directors themselves, plus there will be many stand-in and photo double roles as well.

Casting Taylormade is now casting actors, models and 1980s period cars to appear in the new season of the Netflix hit sci-fi drama Stranger Things. Filming will start in November and take place in metro Atlanta.
