Police officer rescues dog from interstate

O'FALLON, Mo. — A driver captured a heartwarming K-9 rescue by an officer this week in O'Fallon, Missouri. 

According to the O'Fallon, Missouri, Police Department, a citizen captured the moment along Interstate 70 at TR Hughes Boulevard. 

The officer rescued the canine after it decided to take a walk along I-70. 

O'Fallon police said on Friday the dog was okay and released to animal control after the rescue. The department said animal control would work to reunite the dog with its owner.
