ATLANTA — For our last minute Christmas holiday shoppers looking for the perfect gift or dinner, some big retailers are staying open to make your holidays the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" as you spend the time with family.
Whether it's a cup of coffee or last-minute groceries on Christmas Eve, there are some stores that will be open with limited hours.
11Alive did some digging to find which stores are open and closed on Christmas Eve. Here's what we found.
Is Walmart open on Christmas Eve?
Most Walmart locations in metro Atlanta will be open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Those who are looking for a discounted meal or last-minute gift can hit the retailer starting at 6 a.m.

Is Kroger open on Christmas Eve?
Kroger closes at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, according to a spokesperson.
Target Christmas Eve hours 2023
Target has extended their holiday hours on Saturday, Dec. 23 the stores will be open from 7 a.m. until midnight.
On Christmas Eve, Target will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. The popular retailer will then be closed on Christmas on Monday, Dec. 25.
Costco Christmas Eve hours
The wholesale warehouse retailer will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
- "For the hours of our warehouse services, such as gas station, pharmacy, optical department, etc., find your desired warehouse location and select the Store Details section," their website said.
Is Publix open on Christmas Eve?
All Publix locations will open at their normal hours of 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
"We value our commitment to our Publix associates as deeply as we value our customers. To allow our associates time to enjoy this holiday season," said the grocer.
The grocery retailer said that some of the store hours may vary, so customers should locate a store near them for specific store hours.

Which restaurants are open and closed on Christmas Eve?
- Olive Garden: Olive Garden will be closed on Christmas Day. Customers should check each restaurant location for Christmas Eve hours.
- McDonald's: Customers should check their store location's holiday hours.

- Red Lobster: Open on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
- Waffle House
- Cracker Barrel: Stores will be open until 2 p.m. closing early and will be closed on Christmas Day.
- Taco Bell: Will be open on Christmas Eve with limited hours and closed on Christmas Day.
- Krispy Kreme: Will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
- Fogo de Chao: The Atlanta location will be open on Christmas Day and Christmas Eve.
Is Chick-fil-A open on Christmas Eve?
Chick-Fil-A will be closed on Christmas Eve as it falls on a Sunday this year. The store will also be closed on Christmas day.
Those who would like to still enjoy their famous chicken will have to put in a catering order before the holiday weekend begins.
The restaurant chain said it's closing it's doors to allow its team members time to spend with their family and friends, according to it's website.
Is Christmas Eve a federal holiday?
Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday, which means that Christmas will not have to be observed since it falls on Monday.
Do packages get delivered on Christmas Eve?
USPS
According to the mail courier's website, local post officers, blue collection boxes and regular will be closed and not in session.
Priority Mail Express will still be delivered on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
UPS
Their website states that domestic and ground shipping and delivery is not available on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
Limited locations will also be open on Christmas Eve. Customers should check with their local locations. UPS said that Express Critical will be open on Christmas Eve, but closed on Christmas day.
FedEx
Packages will still be delivered Christmas Eve for home delivery for locations that ONLY always deliver on Sundays. Residential delivery is not available to all location.
Any other type of shipping like Express, Ground, Economy or Freight shipping will be closed. That does not mean your package will get here in time for Christmas Day since express shipping will be closed.
