New details on Westside BeltLine redevelopment

On Thursday, Invest Atlanta's Board of Directors approved the selection of a nationally recognized developer.

Atlanta BeltLine Inc. is one step closer to transforming a southwest industrial hub into a mixed-income, mixed-use development geared toward pedestrians and cyclists.

On Thursday, Invest Atlanta's Board of Directors approved the selection of nationally recognized developer Culdesac and local firm Urban Oasis Development as the real estate team for Murphy Crossing. ABI’s Board of Directors also formally signed off on the selection last week.

The approvals allow ABI to enter a contract with the partners. Culdesac is known for its car-free development in Tempe, Arizona. Urban Oasis Development focuses on strengthening underserved Intown Atlanta communities by filling them with workforce and affordable housing.

“Being a part of this transformative project is a pivotal moment for my community as we work to bring intentional, innovative and people-centered development,” said Joel Dixon, principal at Urban Oasis Development, in a prepared statement.
