'No words for this hurt' | Bartow County father, mother and 2 sons killed after crash on I-75. They were on their way home from a church function

The crash claimed the lives of Dakarai Mason, Erin Mason and Brandon Crawford. In a tragic update, the Masons' son Titus also died just days later.

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — A Bartow County father, mother and two of their sons were tragically killed after a multi-vehicle crash on I-75 last Sunday

The crash happened on I-75 southbound just before Red Top Mountain Road. Authorities said four people were killed, and five others were hurt.

Dakarai Mason, 43, Erin Mason, 35, along with their three children, Brandon, Titus, 6, and Noah, were involved in the accident while on their way home from a church function, according to an online fundraiser verified by 11Alive. 

The crash claimed the lives of Dakarai, Erin and Brandon. The Masons' son Titus was critically hurt after the crash. However, in a heartbreaking update just days later, the online fundraiser reported Titus had also passed away on Wednesday morning after extensive tests and medical care. 

Noah is expected to make a full recovery, according to the online fundraiser. 

"We thank you all for the outpouring of prayers, love, & support — it has been felt by the family & greatly appreciated in such a dark time," the online fundraiser stated. "Please continue to pray for us, for the other families touched by this tragedy, & for our little Noah, who is going through the unimaginable loss of his entire immediate family. There are just no words for this hurt."

Dakarai Mason

The Georgia Department of Transportation released a statement saying it was "devastated to learn of the loss of our colleague" but declined to comment further out of respect for the family's privacy. 

Erin Mason

Erin Mason was a "beloved" civilian employee with Holly Springs Police, the department said. In a social media post, the police department added it "will continue to ask for prayers for the family and friends during the coming days, weeks, and months as they navigate the planning of multiple funerals and in dealing with such a tragic loss."

Brandon Crawford 

The family's son, Brandon Crawford, was a freshman at Cass High School and played offensive line for the football team. Brandon also took honors courses as part of the International Studies Magnet Program at the high school, according to the Bartow County School System.

"We continue to ask for prayers, as we know that there is strength in numbers. Our family will undoubtedly need them in the coming days, weeks, and months as we navigate the planning of multiple funerals and in dealing with such a tragic loss. We also ask for prayers for all of the other families impacted by this terrible tragedy," the online fundraiser stated.
