Man arrested after going over 100 mph, kills 3 including his daughter in Peachtree Corners crash

Police said Aaron Vaughn was arrested on Friday around 3:06 p.m. and taken to the Gwinnett County Jail.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. — A man was charged with several crimes in connection to a March crash that left three dead, including his 5-year-old daughter and others seriously injured. 

According to Gwinnett County Police Department, Aaron Vaughn, 30, was charged with: 

  • Murder in the second degree
  • Three counts of homicide by vehicle in the first-degree
  • Two counts of transporting a child in a vehicle without proper restraint
  • Driver required to wear a seatbelt
  • Two counts of cruelty to children in the second degree
  • Serious injury by vehicle 
  • Reckless driving
  • Speeding

Police said Vaughn was arrested on Friday around 3:06 p.m. and taken to the Gwinnett County Jail. Officers said the detective in the case determined that Vaughn was driving over 100 mph in a Cadillac on a 45-mph roadway prior to the crash with a BMW. 

It happened on Peachtree Corners Circle and Elmside Village Lane just before 4 p.m. 

Vaugn and the front seat passenger were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police said his two children were in the back seat of the Camaro. One of them, a 5-year-old named Aura Camarono, later died at the hospital while the other child, who is 6 years old, was taken to the hospital for treatment, officers said.

Authorities said the driver and passenger of the BMW died. Police identified the driver as Armas Harding, 46, and the passenger as Laura Rueda, 46. The officer added that the passenger who was in the front seat of the Camaro was still at the hospital.
