13-year-old boy shot in Atlanta's Pittsburgh neighborhood, authorities say

Police said the victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he is in "critical, but stable condition."

ATLANTA — A teen was taken to the hospital late Sunday night after being shot in Atlanta's Pittsburgh neighborhood, according to the police department

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. when the 13-year-old victim was walking along Fletcher Street and Sims Street. That's when police said a white-colored four door sedan pulled beside him and started firing shots in what appears to a drive-by shooting.

Police said the victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he is in "critical, but stable condition."

It is unclear how many suspects police are looking for. Authorities also have not identified any suspects.

Investigators are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident. 

No other details were released.
