Conyers Police warn against court services phone scam

The callers target residents by posing as a city employee, police said.

CONYERS, Ga. — The Conyers Police Department is warning residents about a phone call scam where someone poses as a court services employee in an attempt to get money.

Authorities say the scam caller is demanding payment for an outstanding warrant and then asks them to purchase gift cards for payment.

The department would like to remind residents that they do not make calls about warrants or request payment over the phone. If you are unsure if the call is legitimate, hang up and call Conyers Court Services at 770-929-4208.
