Juvenile taken to hospital after hit-and-run in Decatur, police investigating

Authorities are looking a red Toyota sedan.

DECATUR, Ga. — Police in the City of Decatur are on the lookout for a driver who they said hit a child and sped off Tuesday morning.

This happened at the intersection of Commerce Drive and West Howard Avenue around 8:40 a.m., according to police.

Officers added the juvenile was using the crosswalk before being hit. The driver of the vehicle, which is described as a red Toyota sedan, didn't stop at a red light.

At last check, police said the driver was heading west on West Howard Avenue.

As for the victim, officers said the juvenile was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
