Teen shot at Atlanta apartment complex, police say

Here's what we know.

ATLANTA — A 15-year-old boy is in the hospital after being shot at an apartment complex on Campbellton Road Wednesday, according to authorities.

Atlanta Police said officers responded shortly after 1:15 p.m. at the Reserve At Birch Creek Apartments. When they arrived, APD said officers found the teen shot in the groin inside one of the apartment units.

The police department said the teen survived the shooting, and everyone involved in the shooting has been contained.

This is not the first shooting that has happened at the same apartment complex. In January, two teens were shot, and one of them died at the apartments.

KeKe Love lives at the apartment complex with her three children and said she has many questions about the latest shooting.

"'Was it an accident? Was it on purpose? Did you meant to do it?' So... that's three questions that everybody need to think about, What made y'all want to shoot?" Loved asked.

Investigators with APD's aggravated assault unit are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
