LAGRANGE, Ga. — A woman was shot and killed in LaGrange on Wednesday night, police said, and a second female victim was shot and taken to a trauma center.
The LaGrange Police Department said it happened a little after 9 p.m. at a location on Borton Street.
The department said officers arrived on scene and found a woman, identified as Ambreia Davison, "suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and she was transported to WellStar West Georgia Hospital where she was pronounced deceased."
The second victim was also on scene, "suffering from a gunshot wound and she was transported to a Columbus area trauma center for treatment." There were no specific details on that woman's injuries or what condition she might be in.
Police said an investigation has determined that "unknown suspects fired multiple rounds which struck the home and the two victims." It was unclear if they were targeted or hit at random by a spray of gunfire.
LaGrange Police added: "Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the LaGrange Police Department at 706-883-2603 or Detective C Brown at (706) 883-2690. Information can also be reported anonymously to Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000 and callers may be eligible for a cash reward."
