Man convicted in 'sickening' murder of Georgia mother and father, leaving 5 kids without a parent

Courts decided he was guilty on two counts of murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A man facing charges for a South Carolina homicide was found guilty of a Cobb County double murder according to the district attorney's office.

Lester Piercefield, 29 was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences without parole and an additional 25 years, the Cobb County District Attorney's Office said on Wednesday. Courts decided he was guilty on two counts of murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The shooting happened in July 2022. Reports said officers were dispatched to a home on 400 Westwood Place in Austell. A woman, who was shot in the face was reportedly outside her house, officers reported.

When police entered the home the bodies of Jeremy Davis and Lena Wolfe were found with multiple shots to the chest and head.

“It takes an especially evil and heartless man to slaughter two parents and attempt to kill a third. Davis was a father of two little boys. Wolfe was a mother of three young sons. It is sickening that these five boys are left only with memories of their mom and dad,” said Senior Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Green.

Police said the woman found outside was able to give them a suspect description and the car he was driving. Officers were able to identify Piercefield and learned that he knew Wolfe and Davis.

According to the DA, Piercefield and Wolfe took Davis back to the home, where he had been living, around 2:30 a.m., and then left the apartment complex. But around 4 a.m., police said he returned, "unannounced and for reasons unknown."

Within minutes of Piercefield and Wolfe walking into Davis' room, gunfire erupted. When the women went to check on the three others, she said Piercefield turned the gun at her, shooting twice, "striking her in the eye."

Investigators said two guns were used and at least 8 rounds were fired - "four to Davis’ body, two at (the third, surviving victim), and two at Wolfe."

The DA's office said that the others, aside from Piercefield, were unarmed.
