A man who was found shot in the chest at a home on Tufton Trail SE near Empire Park has died and his death is being treated as a homicide, according to Atlanta Police.
Officers were dispatched to the home for a person shot just before 12:30 p.m. Monday.
Atlanta Police believe the suspect and victim knew each other and the shooter is involved with the victim's sister.
Police believe the shooting happened after an argument over money. It is unclear if the man who was shot was the intended target, according to police.
Several people were in the home at the time of the shooting but it is unclear at this time if it happened inside the home, or outside.
The 24-year-old man was transported to the hospital in critical condition. He later died of his injuries.
Witnesses told police the suspect fled in a vehicle.
