COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A murder suspect out of Alabama was arrested in Atlanta on Tuesday after leading police on a chase through Cobb County, police said.

Cobb County Police officers were patrolling around Cobb Parkway near Akers Mill Road on Tuesday around 5 p.m. when they spotted a white Mercedes-Benz GLC coupe that had been associated with a homicide in Mobile, Alabama. When the driver spotted the police vehicle, they sped off, going south on Cobb Parkway at a "high rate of speed," even running a red light.

Police then tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver of the Mercedes sped off down I-75 south, police said. The driver exited onto Northside Drive, where officers performed a PIT maneuver at the intersection of Bellemeade Avenue. Those inside the Mercedes tried to run away, but they were tracked down with the help of the Atlanta Police Department, Georgia State Patrol and Cobb Police K-9.

One of the people inside the car who was arrested was 20-year-old Laderdrick Davis Jr., who was wanted on an outstanding murder charge out of Mobile, police said.
