One of Clayton County's 'Most Wanted' arrested during traffic stop

He was wanted on several felony charges in multiple jurisdictions.

FOREST PARK, Ga. -- He was facing several major charges, but police said it was a relatively minor offense that proved the downfall of a Clayton County "Top 10" fugitive on Tuesday.

According to Forest Park police, 21-year-old Steven Byron Duncan was arrested in a traffic stop after an officer ran his tag and found out his van had no valid insurance.

Forest Park police said that he had felony warrants out in several jurisdictions for home invasion, armed robbery, false imprisonment, terroristic threats and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Those alleged crimes also earned him a number 10 spot on the Clayton County Sheriff's Office "Most Wanted" list.

He was also wanted for aggravated assault, home invasion, armed robbery, burglary with intent to commit a felony in the first degree, pointing or aiming a gun or pistol at another, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission or attempt to commit certain felonies connected to a single incident in Lake City on May 30.

Police said that on that day he broke into a home there, he went to the victim's bedroom and stood in the doorway brandishing a handgun. Investigators said he refused to let the victim leave and robbed that person of their cell phone and $4,000 in cash.

His arrest on Tuesday led to additional charges including possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, no valid insurance, driving with a suspended tag and driving while license suspended or revoked.

He was also allegedly found with 140 ecstasy pills with a street value of $2,800, gave a fake name and age to police and tried to escape after being handcuffed. These actions led to charges of obstruction and violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act.
