Online fundraiser started for 3-year-old killed at Athens mobile home

Kyron Zarco, 3, was killed at the Hallmark Mobile Home Park on Spring Valley Road in Athens on Friday.

ATHENS, Ga. — An online fundraiser was started after a 3-year-old was killed in a triple shooting at an Athens mobile home park.

Kyron Zarco, affectionately called "Baby Dro," was killed in the shooting. His brother, a 9-year-old who just celebrated his birthday yesterday, was also injured but is being treated for his injuries in the hospital, their mother said Friday.

Family members are now looking for support during this time to cover his funeral arrangements.

"It went right through his heart; my baby didn't even have a chance," Shanita Smith said on Friday night in Athens. "Why? Why? I don't bother nobody. I don't bother nobody. So, were you aiming for someone else's house? Because why? My sweet little baby."

Zarco was sitting inside their home on the couch watching a movie when bullets came flying in. Another adult was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital.
