ATLANTA — Atlanta Police said a man was shot in the back outside a location on Moreland Avenue in southeast Atlanta early Sunday morning.
According to Atlanta Police Sgt. John Chafee, when officers responded to a person shot call in the 1900 block of Moreland Avenue at about 6:30 a.m., they found a man with a gunshot wound to the back.
Investigators said they discovered that a male had been removed from the location by security. Once outside, that person retrieved a handgun and fired several shots before departing.
Chafee said several vehicles and the victim were hit by gunfire.
The victim was transported to Atlanta Medical Center in stable condition.
Investigators are working to identify the suspect.
