3 hurt in shooting near Atlanta City Hall, police say

Triple shooting at southwest Atlanta intersection: APD

ATLANTA — Three people were shot in southwest Atlanta in the early hours of Saturday near city hall, according to the Atlanta Police Department. 

Officers were dispatched around 3:23 a.m. to the intersection at Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW and Central Ave SW regarding an aggravated assault. That's less than a mile from the Georgia Capitol Museum and Atlanta City Hall. 

APD said once officers arrived, a man and two women were found shot in the area. The three were taken to Grady Hospital and are expected to be ok, police said. 

APD said a suspect in a light-colored sedan shot at the two cars in the intersection, resulting in a man driving a Jeep and a man and woman driving a Toyota being shot

Police have not released any other information about the shooting and are still investigating the incident. This is a developing story. Check back often for new information.
