DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A 19-year-old woman was found dead in DeKalb County on Wednesday night.
The DeKalb County Police Department said that officers responded to the 2100 block of Bedevere Circle regarding a person shot. Upon arrival, police said they found the woman, identified as Destiny Carson, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
The agency said that preliminary information reveals the victim may have known the suspect, but it's unclear what would have led up to the shooting. According to the DeKalb County Police, 19-year-old Marquis Simmons was identified as the suspect and turned himself in.
He is being charged with malice murder in Carson's death, according to authorities
