Several local restaurants fail health inspections

Several local restaurants received failing health scores from the Fulton County Public Health Department.

ATLANTA, Ga -- Several metro Atlanta restaurants received unsatisfactory health inspection scores recently from the Fulton County Public Health Department.

Here’s a look at some of the local eateries that have some work to do:

New Dragon

Score: 62

Inspectors found an employee eating an apple over kitchen equipment; improperly stored raw pork, shrimp and chicken; dirty kitchen equipment; torn refrigerator gaskets; and dirty dishes. See the report here.

Score: 64

Inspectors found food products in the restaurant’s handwashing sink; uncovered food in coolers and freezers; heavy food buildup on a can opener blade; toilet tissue being used by employees to dry their hands; and a dirty microwave, among other violations. See the report here.

Moldy cheese and a hood vent dripping with grease were among the numerous violations found by inspectors. Others included no paper towels at a kitchen hand sink and a lack of thermometers in a refrigerator. See the report here.

Inspectors reported finding chicken wings and raw shrimp being stored uncovered; sanitizers, sprays and medication stored in the food prep area; dirt on shelves and counters; grease and large amounts of food buildup on pans; and missing floor tiles inside a cooler, among other violations.
