LITHONIA, Ga. – One person was fatally shot at a Lithonia apartment building early Thursday morning.
Dekalb County Police responded to the Grove Wood apartments at the 6100 block of Hillandale Drive in Lithonia, Ga., just after 4:30 a.m., to a shooting.
Officers found the victim in the stairway suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Witnesses told police that the victim walked outside and they later heard a single gunshot and discovered the victim in the stairway.
There are no suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
