Arrest made in connection to shooting death of security guard in Midtown Atlanta, police say

Sha’Darrian Quintavious Jacobs, 33, was shot in the neck during the early morning hours of Aug. 28 along Spring Street NW.

ATLANTA — Months after a security officer was shot to death in Midtown on Spring Street, an arrest has been made in the case, Atlanta Police said Tuesday.

Sha’Darrian Quintavious Jacobs, 33, was shot in the neck during the early morning hours of Aug. 28 at 725 Spring Street N, which is the location of the Lanier Parking Garage-- not far from Georgia Tech.

Jacobs was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene.

APD previously said Jacobs was a security guard but not for the location where the shooting took place. Investigators previously said "he was an innocent bystander."

In new developments this week, investigators with APD's APEX unit took Marion’Taye Holloman, 18, into custody on Nov. 25. He faces murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a person under 18 and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to APD.

Jacobs was employed with Unitus Security. The company previously released a statement saying in part, "Our heartfelt thoughts and condolences go out to Sha’darrian's family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time."

No other details were released by police at this time.
