Currently, the body found in Lake Carlton is being investigated as a suspicious death.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — An autopsy is being conducted to determine whether a body found in a Gwinnett County lake could be missing a UGA graduate.

Alvin Ahmed went missing from the Town Center Publix on the 16th. A man's body was found floating in Lake Carlton In Loganville on Wednesday night, on the 18th. The sites are nearly three miles apart.

Authorities said they finished the first part of the autopsy, but they still weren't able to positively identify the body. More examinations will be done.

11Alive talked to Ahmed's family while they were passing out fliers at the grocery store where he's a pharmacy tech."It's been more than 24 hour, it's been almost 48 hours every day that passes by is like another stab to the heart and we wish that someone saw something," Kalvin Ahmed said, who is Alvin's brother.

Police said Ahmed's car was left in the parking lot at Town Center. The glove compartment was open.

"We have the last image of him getting groceries for my mom and we have an empty car and we don't know what happened to my brother," he said.

They are concerned because the groceries were still inside the car, the doors were unlocked, and they said his glove box was "rummaged through." They also said his white medical coat was in the car.
