Man taken into custody after ramming gate of Atlanta FBI office, authorities say

This happened at the facility on Flowers Road.

CHAMBLEE, Ga. — A man is in custody after ramming a car into the gate of the FBI office off Flowers Road in Chamblee on Monday, according to authorities.

Officials with the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Atlanta division said it happened shortly after noon. It is unknown why the man attempted to drive the car through the gate at this time. However, we do know that the authorities took him into custody. 

On Tuesday the man was identified as Ervin Bolling. He is being charged with interference with government property, DeKalb Police said.

In an update, FBI Atlanta said several of its special agents who were passing by apprehended the man after he got out of his vehicle. 

"The suspect was taken to a local area hospital for evaluation. Currently, we are looking into both state and federal charges," FBI Atlanta said in a statement.

Bolling is still in the hospital as of Tuesday, DeKalb PD said.

FBI Atlanta said there were no injuries. 

"Agents and bomb techs checked the car as a precaution as part of our standard procedure," FBI Atlanta added. You can read its full statement in the social media post below:
