ATLANTA — Chick-fil-A is moving forward with a new restaurant in one of the hottest parts of Atlanta, according to 11Alive's partners at the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Chick-fil-A Inc. submitted a building permit application to the City of Atlanta for its restaurant on Ponce de Leon Avenue that will replace long-serving sports bar Dugan's Restaurant & Bar.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle in June 2022 reported Chick-fil-A's intention to open at the Dugan's site.
The buildout is expected to cost $6.5 million, according to the application. Chick-fil-A bought the Dugan's property for $6.7 million in March, the Chronicle previously reported. Dugan's closed last year for a move to the redeveloped Northlake Mall. Chick-fil-A razed the former Ponce restaurant earlier this year.
