Clayton County commissioner removed from role after being accused of being intoxicated

While she has now been removed from her chairperson role, she still remains in office.

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Clayton County Board of Commissioners has voted to sanction one of its own, effectively removing her from her role as vice chairwoman.

The decision stems from a post on social media where Commissioner Felicia Franklin claimed she was drugged with a "date rape pill."

According to the board's agenda, there is video showing EMS attempting to put Franklin in an ambulance where she became combative and refused evaluation.

The agenda also states there is security footage from the bar and grill where Franklin alleges this all happened, showing she had several alcoholic drinks.

On top of that, the Morrow Police investigation found there was no evidence to support her claim that she was drugged.

During a county commissioners meeting last week, several fellow members called for Franklin's resignation.

While she has now been removed for her chairperson role, she still remains in office.
