Coweta Sheriff's Office raising money for K-9 shot in the line of duty

The sheriff's office says K-9 Kilo has made a full recovery after being shot in August.

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — The Coweta County Sheriff's Office is raising money after a K-9 officer was shot in the line of duty several months back.

The fundraiser will pay for the medical expenses of K-9 Kilo. The K-9 officer was shot back in August, and thankfully has since made a full recovery and is back on duty.

A social media post by the sheriff's office said: "In honor of our hero, we have made CCSO K-9 Challenge Coins. The supply of these coins are limited. They are available for purchase and all proceeds go towards Kilo’s medical expenses."

You can purchase one of the coins here. The design is shown in the Instagram post below:

On sale for $25 each, the coins will be available for pickup at the sheriff's office at 560 Greison Trail in Newnan within two days of purchase, or shipping can be handled for an additional $5.

"Thank you for your continued support," the sheriff's office post said.
