According to police call records, a deadly shooting was reported around 9 p.m. on Monday on Mitchell Street Northwest, which is about a tenth of a mile from the house they are at now. Officers reported finding a person shot dead in the area, and investigators with their homicide unit responded.

APD has not said if these two shootings are related or provided any other updates on that case. School officials have not said if morning drop-offs or classes will be affected.
